The Lord is a great Provider! He has prepared a supply for every need we will ever encounter, including the provision of healing! Knowing that healing belongs to us is a major part of receiving the manifestation of our healing. As one minister said, “Faith begins where the will of God is known.” Faith to receive healing in your body begins with knowing that God has included healing as a benefit of your salvation in Christ Jesus.

The word salvation provides a firm foundation for healing. In the Bible, the word salvation means “deliverance, preservation, material and temporal deliverance from danger and apprehension, pardon, protection, liberty, HEALTH, RESTORATION, SOUNDNESS, and WHOLENESS.” I have emphasized the last four words in this definition because they relate to our health. For example, if you have a knee or hip that has worn out, it needs restoration. If you have low levels of something, you need wholeness. All of these are aspects of salvation belong to us because we are IN CHRIST, having received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

The Bible points to the price Jesus paid to provide our healing.

Isaiah 53:4-5 LEESER

4 But only our diseases did he bear himself, and our pains he carried: while we indeed esteemed him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

5 Yet he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement for our peace was upon him; and THROUGH HIS BRUISES WAS HEALING GRANTED TO US.

Jesus bore our diseases and carried our pains. The word bear means “to lift up, to carry something away to another place, to remove to a distance.” So it would be accurate to say that Jesus bore our diseases to lift and carry the diseases away from us. He carried our pains to remove the pain from our bodies.

If you believe that Jesus Christ completely removed your past sins, you have already encountered the power to heal. The power that removes sickness is the same power that Jesus used to remove our sins. He redeemed our bodies from the effects of the curse in the same work of redemption that saves us from sin.

Healing is a legal provision. I say “legal” because Jesus legally paid for healing by the stripes He bore on His back. The person who has made Jesus their Lord can access healing without begging or pleading for God to heal them because the power to heal their body has been legally deposited in their salvation account. We can access healing supply at any time by believing and receiving in the price Jesus paid.

Faith in His sacrifice is what Peter was indicating in the following verse:

1 Peter 2:24

24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

God wants us to be convinced that healing is ours and place a faith demand to receive it. A faith demand is like a withdrawal slip you might use at the bank. Even though the money is legally yours, you have to provide a withdrawal slip to access what is in your account. God has chosen the withdrawal slip of faith to work like a spiritual document that provides access to your supply.

Making a faith demand starts with the heart. Take the verses used in this letter and “feed” on them. Read them over and over, meditating on these verses until they develop faith in your heart. The objective is to fill your heart with God’s Word.

Proverbs 4:20-22

20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.

21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.

22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

Then, you will be ready to fill out the withdrawal slip by saying, “Father, Jesus bore my diseases and carried sickness away from my body. I receive the salvation Jesus provided for my physical body to be made whole. By His stripes, I am healed. I receive the healing supply that Jesus placed in my account.”
