Dear Partners and Friends,

Every Word of God is full of power. There is sufficient power in every promise the Lord has made in His Word to bring that promise to pass. The power to fulfill the promise is in the promise. The power to produce a tomato is in the tomato seed. The power to produce an oak tree is in the acorn. The promise of God is given to us in seed form. In Mark, chapter four, Jesus explained, “The sower sows the Word.” In order to release the power in the acorn, you have to put it in the dirt. To produce the tomato plant, you have to insert the seed into the ground. In order to grow the promise, you have to plant it in your heart.

Perhaps you are asking, “How do I plant a promise?” Jesus told us that when the seed was sown the people heard. Look at the following phrases from Mark, chapter four.

…where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Mark 4:15

…which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, Mark 4:16

…which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, Mark 4:18

…which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, Mark 4:20

This is confirmed as the process of faith in Romans 10:17: So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. You could say that the seed or promise is planted in the heart by hearing the Word or promise of God. Notice the emphasis is on the continual action. If you want a continual arrival of faith, you need a continual hearing of the promise. If you want a continual harvest, you sow continually. If you are in a serious condition with a physical ailment, you need to start hearing and hearing the promise of God concerning your health. If you are facing financial difficulties, you need a consistent hearing of God’s promise to bless and supply. You need to hear sermons on the specific subject you are facing. You need to hear your voice reading and declaring the specific promises straight from your copy of the covenant-the Bible!

When you are dealing with serious conditions, you need to be deliberate in your hearing. Jesus warned us to “Take heed what you hear.” I remember when I was confronting lack in my life. Philip and I had struggled with finances since the day we were married. We had a lack mentality. We had too much month at the end of the money every month! We turned the television off for a month and determined that we weren’t going to listen to anything except the Word of God about our financial provision. In the car, we listened to cassette tapes of sermons about prosperity. We found promises and spent time daily declaring those promises. We were sowing the seed by proclaiming them. Our hearts received the Word sown into them. We heard the promises day and night. The seed was sown.

When I first began declaring the promise, my faith was at a low level. The first few weeks of declaration, I was planting seed. There is not a lot of visible activity when the seed is under the ground. Jesus told us the process:

For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. Mark 4:28

I kept hearing and hearing the promise until faith came. I remember the day my faith reached maturity or “full corn in the ear.” When I spoke, the words came out with a supernatural faith. Within a few weeks, things began to change in our lives. Since that time, we have been in a gradual flow of increase!

It wasn’t magic. It wasn’t even a miracle. It was the system of seedtime and harvest. This is the Father’s plan. This is His best for you. This system is steadfast. Remember what the Lord said:

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. Isaiah 55:11

God’s Word in your mouth will prosper in your life. It won’t return empty. It will accomplish the will of God that is resident in the word. There is a promise for every problem you are facing!
