God’s Word in your mouth will change the adverse circumstance. Speaking God’s Word will direct and protect us!
…the lips of the wise shall preserve them. Proverbs 14:3
According to this verse, we can speak words that will preserve our health and financial stability. By purposefully declaring what God has spoken about our lives, we can activate God’s protection and provision in our lives.
This is not a concept that is only located once or twice in the Scriptures. Instead, we find this truth emphasized throughout the Bible! In Matthew 12, Jesus explained the connection between the Word supply in the heart and how it is released with the mouth.
34 You offspring of vipers! How can you speak good things when you are evil (wicked)? For out of the fullness (the overflow, the superabundance) of the heart the mouth speaks. (Matthew 12:34 AMPC)
Jesus indicated that whatever is abundantly in the heart will overflow into the mouth. God designed this method to provide the manifestation of His Word. We are supposed to deposit God’s Word in the heart until we have an overflow of truth and light! Then, the superabundance will fill our mouth, distributing and applying God’s power into our lives.
Sadly, many people allow their hearts to be filled with anxiety, worry, fear, despair, and criticism. When they open their mouths, we witness the contents of their hearts. Oh, if they only realized how it affected their lives! Many of the difficulties they encounter are activated or initiated by the words they are speaking.
Proverbs 18: 21 in The Amplified Bible says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life].” This is established law like the law of gravity, and it is more than “positive” or “negative.” God said death is in the power of the tongue and life is in the power of the tongue. The result of what we will experience in life is made when we choose the words to speak. That is why God said the lips of the wise shall preserve their lives. We are choosing words of life and not death. We are speaking words of peace over our children and love over our marriages. We speak words of stability and increase over our finances.
God spoke many of the things recorded in the Bible for the purpose of equipping us with the words to speak. Hebrews 13:5-6 reveals this, “…for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.” So, God said, “…by whose stripes you were healed (1 Peter 2:24), so that you and I may boldly say, “Surely Jesus has bore my sicknesses and carried my diseases, and by His stripes I am healed and made whole (Isaiah 53:45).”
Let’s be proficient and develop skill in this Kingdom of God principle. Let’s be the wise children of God who use His words to establish the directions of our lives.
