I love the heart of trust we see in Mary as she opens her life completely to the will of God.

Luke 1:30-31 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS…

Luke 1:38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word.

“Let it be in my life as it is in your Word.” Shouldn’t that be the cry of our hearts too? We need to adjust our focus and look at the plan of God for our lives. He has a specific plan for our lives.

It is a good plan.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

God’s plan provides a stable life.

Isaiah 33:6 And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is his treasure.

Jeremiah 17:7-8 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

It is a prosperous plan.

Psalm 115:14-15 The LORD shall increase you more and more, you and your children. Ye are blessed of the LORD which made heaven and earth.

Psalm 65:11 (HCSB) You crown the year with Your goodness; Your ways overflow with plenty.

Our advancement into the land of promise requires that we walk in agreement with God’s Word despite what we see or feel. To walk in agreement with God includes the words we speak, the thoughts we think, and the attitudes of our hearts. Let’s make the decision today to agree with God.

Being in line with God’s Word is not only focused on what we “don’t do.” More importantly, it is about what you enter by faith. Hebrews 4 declares, “We which have believed do enter into rest.” Mary entered the rest of being in God’s perfect plan by believing what God spoke to her.

What God spoke to Mary was far beyond human comprehension. But she didn’t try to figure it out with her mind. She took God at His Word and set herself in agreement. Maybe you think the things God has spoken to you about 2023 are beyond your comprehension. Your mind can’t figure it out. Just pull your mind under the control of your spirit and choose to agree with God.

Enter into the rest by believing what God has spoken. For all of us who are holding onto a promise for a person in our family to be saved, take this to heart. Our natural human minds cannot conceive how prayer and faith will change the circumstances. But God’s Word will not return empty or void. Take God at His Word that “Great shall be the peace of our children” (Isaiah 54:13). Let’s determine not to be moved by what we see but only by what God said! “Be it unto me according to Your Word, Lord!”
