Dear Partners and Friends,
The enemy’s method to hinder people is to blind their mind. We see this explained in 2 Corinthians 4:4, “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not.” The blinding of the mind hinders believing. In turn, hindered believing means hindered receiving! If a person is blind or lacking knowledge about the price Jesus paid to forgive their sins, they cannot believe or receive His salvation.
This is true in everything Jesus made provision for in our redemption. For example, if a person can’t see how Jesus could heal their sick body, they can’t believe for their healing. They can need to be healed. They can want to be healed. They can intensely desire to be healed. But faith begins where the will of God is known. Do you remember the leper that declared, “Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean.”? He was blind to the truth concerning Jesus’ will to help him until Jesus gave the man His Word. “I will!” The Wuest translation of this verse says, “I am desiring it from all of my heart. Be cleansed at once.” Praise God! Knowing His will removes all blindness and receiving comes easy!
You could say that faith begins where the will of God is known because God has revealed His will for every area of our lives in His Word. If you have the Word on it, you have the light on the subject. While our adversary attempts to blind a person’s mind from seeing the light or truth, the Lord desires to reveal His Word to us. The word, “reveal” means, “to take off the cover, to unveil or uncover.” In Matthew 16, Peter receives a revelation of Jesus Christ. He declared, “You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God.” Then, Jesus explained how Peter came to that knowledge. It was revealed to him. Jesus declared:
“My father in heaven has personally revealed this to you – this is not from any human source.” – Matthew 16:17 (TLB)
Keep in mind everything I have taught you over the last two months. We learned that we must have a Word-governed mind. This goes a step beyond just a renewing of the mind. Once we have been through the process of renewing, we maintain the mind by governing our thought processes with God’s Word. Last month, we learned how to brace or gird up the creative processes of the mind. Revelation knowledge is the next level we must attain. We must determine to live a life guided by God’s revelation knowledge.
Revelation knowledge originates with the Heavenly Father. Revealed knowledge is delivered into our born-again spirit by the Holy Spirit. We take this revelation knowledge and place it into our minds to fuel our thought processes. This is part of our inheritance! Sons of God are led by the Spirit of God! The manner by which the Holy Spirit leads us includes revealing things to our spirit!
How many times have you heard this verse:
“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” – 1 Corinthians 2:9
Maybe natural eye cannot see it. Maybe these great things prepared for us by our loving Heavenly Father are not discerned with the natural ear. But, don’t stop reading! The next verse tells us how God will communicate these things to us! “But God hath revealed them unto us by His Spirit” (1 Corinthians 2:10). The born-again spirit is wired to receive communication from God. We are on the frequency to pick up and transmit information that exceeds the intellect.
“Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.” – 1 Corinthians 2:12
Our spirits are made alive with the very life of God at the new birth. Our spirit is born of God and filled with the Spirit of God so that we can know things that are only known by revelation. In turn, you can receive without seeing any evidence in the natural realm. You have knowledge that surpasses the knowledge that comes by seeing. The mind-blinding technique won’t work on the person that is walking by revelation knowledge!
