What Does Righteousness Say? (An excerpt from “Redeemed and Righteous by Nature”)
Receive the righteousness that you are in Christ and yield to it. See yourself as righteous. Talk in line with this right standing.
ROMANS 10:6
6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart…”
There are times when righteousness is going to correct what you say. It is going to correct your speech and say, “Don’t say that.” The right standing that you are in Christ will, for example, compel you not to speak unfavorable things about your life or your children.
ROMANS 10:8
8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach.
What does righteousness say? “I have the Word. I have the answer!”
If I am submitting to righteousness, it is going to direct me in the right way to receive from God. This righteousness is going to convict and correct me to keep me from walking in “less-than” the authority and privilege that I have in Christ.
Righteousness is going to say, “No, no, no! Don’t say those negative things about yourself. You are the righteousness of God. Don’t say those negative things about your children. Instead, proclaim that your children shall be taught of the Lord, and great shall be their peace (Isa. 54:13)!”
Establishing your righteousness is a vital part of being able to stand. To stand against those things you need to resist and move into those things you need to embrace, you need to develop a strong sense of righteousness in your heart. Remember, you are the righteousness of God.
