Pray for the Root and Not the Fruit

When you pray for a situation after the fact, you’re praying by what you see—the fruit on the tree. You pray based on the bad decisions that your loved one is making or the destructive things you see them doing. If all of your prayer cues are coming from that, then you are already behind the situation. Those things are already in motion! Your prayer will be more effective if you learn how to pray for the root issue. You can do this with the leading of the Holy Spirit.
