Dear Partners and Friends,

I want you to know that it is possible to live a life COMPLETELY FREE from all fear. Not only is it possible, it is God’s perfect will for you to be 100% free from every trace of fear. It won’t just happen. You will have to build your faith in this and resist fear in every form until you develop that fear-free life. I want to share with you some of the truths that are helping me develop in this area.

In Isaiah 54:14, there are a few interesting points for us to consider.

In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee. Isaiah 54:14

The first thing I want to note is that the force of righteousness becomes a foundational strength in our lives. To be established is to be settled or founded in a position of stability. Righteousness provides that stability. The force of righteousness is built by faith in what the Word says concerning our position in Christ. When we know who we are in Christ, we won’t be pushed around by situations that want to move us into fear. When our faith is strong concerning our right standing with God, fear will not be our automatic response. This is the first step in developing a life where no fear exists.

The next thing I want you to consider in this verse is this: “You shall be far from oppression because you shall not fear.” There is a connection to the action of fear and the proximity of oppression. Picture in your mind you are peering off way into the distance. You are squinting to see the oppression that is barely visible standing at the border of your life. It has no access to get closer because you won’t fear. This is what should be in the life of every believer. Oppression should be located so far away from the believer. Why? It is because we will not fear. As long as we don’t engage the action of fear, oppression must remain at a far, far distance.

Look at the next part of the verse. The terror cannot come near us either! As long as we don’t fear, terror cannot gain access into our proximity. Nothing can make you afraid. There is nothing, absolutely nothing that will happen in your life where fear will be your only option of response. As a matter of fact, you can erase fear off the multiple-choice list of your responses. You can pray. You can rejoice. You can declare the Word of God. You can call on the Name of Jesus. You can stand in faith. You have many options of how you can respond. But determine right now, “I will not fear!”

According to this text, as long as we don’t fear, terror and oppression are denied access to our lives. This brings to my mind a statement made by Job. For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me. Job 3:25 This coincides with Isaiah 54:14. Job experienced the result of engaging in fear. Fear allowed the entrance of the thing he dreaded. Instead of the destruction, terror, or oppression being far from him, it came upon him. Fear drew the negative like a supernatural magnet.

There is something else you should know about this occurrence. Job indicates in his statement that he “greatly feared.” He had practiced fear to the point that he was highly developed in that fear. If you look back to chapter one, verse five, you will see that fear was something Job was engaging continually. He was afraid that his children had cursed God in their hearts. He said it continually until this fear was highly developed in his heart.

Whatever force you are highly developed in will work easily and swiftly in your life. You can choose to have love, faith, and peace highly developed in your life. Be determined to halt any action of fear. Take every thought captive. Guard your heart with all diligence for out of your heart flow the forces of life. Say this continually, “I will never be afraid another day in my life!”
